Robert talks about when and where to use Furnace Cement.

You can use Rutland Furnace Cement to repair and reset wood/coal stoves, flues and fireplaces. This is a ready-mixed, all-purpose, high-temperature resistant cement that seals joints and cracks in metal and fills gaps between masonry and metal. This will help prevent air and gas leaks in flue and chimney joints and door gaskets. This furnace cement will withstand temperatures up to 2700 Degrees Fahrenheit . NorthlineExpress recommends the use of High Temp Furnace Cement when installing chimney liner as it is easier to remove than high-temp silicon if the need ever arises.

The Rutland Furnace Cement is as hard and durable as firebrick when heat-cured and it adheres tightly to firebrick.

Meets or exceeds ASTM C 199 pier test; pyrometric code of 16/17 PCE.
