I got a lot of requests for how to fix the rubber cap that is under the keys on the keyboard on my “How to fix laptop keyboard keys” video, one whose popularity I didn’t even see coming… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMrQCN_OfMk
So I decided to take mine apart again and see what was up with it. To me, it looks like my keys are just held in by rubber that is extremely thin and between the layers of sheetmetal that are riveted together with the key circuit traces. Which means, there’s nothing you really can do except maybe stick some double-sided adhesive tape on the rubber cup and just stick it in place. I see no reason why that shouldn’t work..
But again, try it at your own risk, I assume no responsibility for your following of my video or instructions.
I REALLY hope this video helps someone.. Because I ended up breaking the V key on my Vostro’s keyboard in the process of making it
