The surface of the automobile turns superhydrophobic after ~10 min of total flame treatment. The treated automobile exhibits high
water repellency, self-cleaning, and retains water repellency even after dumping 0.5 tons of water over the surface. The surface was rubbed with steel wool to wear the surface until loss
of water repellency. Water repellency was recovered by reprocessing with flame. Work published in Advanced Materials Volume 28, Issue 19, pages 3677–3682, May 18, 2016
