These urethane casting resins can create durable molds, parts, prototypes, and tools of varying hardness, from soft rubber to hard plastic. The clear casting resin is excellent for providing a UV-resistant finish for epoxy parts, smoothing porous surfaces and creating lenses, finishing tabletops and decorative encapsulations. The softer 40 Shore A and 60 Shore A urethanes can make pliable, impact-resistant parts or flexible molds for harder urethanes with negative angles. The 40 Shore A casting resin is a soft polymer with the approximate hardness of a rubber band, and has a pot life of 25 minutes. The 60 Shore A casting resin is firmer, about as hard as a car tire. The 60 Shore D is as hard as a solid rubber tire and the 75 Shore D resin is as hard as a hardhat. The clear casting/coating resin is 80 Shore D and dries water clear. Use 4121 High Temp Paste Wax or 4120 Easy Clean Mold Release with urethanes, as well as plastic paint stirs.
