Silicone rubber is an elastomer (rubber-like material) composed of silicone—itself a polymer—containing silicon together with carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Silicone rubbers are widely used in industry, and there are multiple formulations. Silicone rubbers are often one- or two-part polymers, and may contain fillers to improve properties or reduce cost. Step 1 Deflate tube completely.
Step 2 Apply pressure with your knee or a second person before loosening valve.Maintain enough pressure to the outside of the rib valve.
Step 3 Remove Valve while someone is holding the backside valve applying pressure so it doesn’t fall into the tube.
Step 4 Screw on valve and tighten with valve tool.
Step 5 Inflate tube and apply soapy water to see if valve leaks. If valve leaks tighten some more.
