https://www.icopal.co.uk/Products/Single_Ply_Roofing.aspx Single Ply Roofing — Tall upstands to single ply systems can be waterproofed in a variety of methods. In this video Monarplan FM PVC single ply roofing membrane is fully adhered to the plywood upstand using Monarplan Contact Adhesive and subsequently restrained beneath a metal termination bar.
Video Script
All Monarplan single ply roofing membranes require to be mechanically restrained at the base of any upstand. The method of mechanical fixing can differ. In this case, a metal restraining bar is mechanically fixed to the base of the vertical upstand.
Apply Monarplan Contact Adhesive to the upstand and to the back of the pre-cut Monarplan FM membrane at the recommended coverage rate. Leave to dry for approximately 20 – 30 minutes until the surfaces are dry to touch. Be sure to leave an adhesive free overlap with the field sheet below.
Bring the two surfaces together. Using the seam roller, press the membrane against the upstand.
At the corner, cut the membrane and turn around the 90° angle.
Weld the single ply roof membrane overlap to the horizontal field sheet.
Repeat the application of the adhesive for the next section of membrane.
Again, cut the membrane at the corner detail.
Weld all surfaces together.
Complete the internal corner detail by welding a pre-fabricated unit over the corner section.
To the top of the upstand membrane, apply a polyurethane mastic behind the leading edge.
Locate and mechanically restrain a termination bar through the single ply roofing membrane and mastic. Cover flash with lead or metal as appropriate.
