How to waterproof the inside of a large pot so that it can be painted to any colour on its outside to prevent the paint from peeling off when damp. Porous garden pots cannot be painted unless the inside is adequately sealed by a waterproof membrane to prevent the water penetrating to the external face of the pot. If it is not sealed the paint will not tolerate dampness and begin to peel off very quickly. Some pot sealers will not work.
