Jeep Liberty Water Pump Replace. This is a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport with a 3.7 engine , that has a bad water pump.The serpentine belt was already taken off the jeep liberty so we could load the jeep up on the trailer. You will need to drain the rest of the jeeps antifreeze out and you can either take the bottom radiator hose off to drain . There may be a drain plug in the jeep liberty radiator but i did not look, the hose was right there.To get the water pump off the jeep liberty you will need to remove the idler pulley.. Then the water pump can be removed from the jeep liberty ,by removing the bolts from the water pump. the 3.7 jeep liberty water pump is not to hard to do compared to many other vehicles. Clean the surface that the water pump will seal on the 3.7 block. Then just reverse the steps to reinstall the water pump on the 3.7 jeep liberty.
