A short video Only a quick and basic hand Cast. The whole process must have taken from start to finish Just under an hour at a guess.
Originally I hadn’t planned on making a video, but then after filming various bits, I decided to go back and make it a bit more properly constructed.
The final Sculpt it’s self turned out alright. A few minor bad bits, like under 3 of the finger tips, this is because air had got in, preventing the plaster to coat the whole of the mould.
My first home made vacuum forming machine. I am using a cheap DIY quality heat gun in a plywood box as a heat source. The inside of the box is lined with aluminium foil to help create more even heat. In the video I heat the edges of the acrylic with a blowtorch. This is probably entirely unnecessary. I am using a festool CT26 shop vac for power, but this is probably overkill as well. Take care when using blowtorches inside. I had the doors open and several fans running to circulate clean air.
