Hello guys and gal, in this video I am showing a quality caulking for use around window perimeter of stucco and wood as it adheres to everything set fast and can be painted in an hour.
Its sold as a professional grade construction sealants.
FYI, I’m under the impression that the Elongation of 1,000 percent (with this SikaHyflex 150) occurred when this Caulking was dry, not while curing like the canned expanding spray foam, thus this caulking would stretch at least double its width and or length when dry, only.
Again, not like the expanding foam in a can which expands when it’s first applied.
But also old Kirk fixed the original and existing problem of why this happened to begin with, the original contractors both the GC and the stucco contractor missed a gap in the upper top corner not realizing that we get real rain storms with high winds which will cause the rain to not only drop down, but be forced horizontal and upwards on the protected slanted eve, which kept filling the hole that was open at the top at the lower corner, this area drank the water like my brother does beer on a hot day.
This hole once or twice a year would fill with possibly a gallon of water (just a guess, from seeing the huge gaps, below this hole, and oddly enough on both sides of the windows)
I figure his rain intrusion would occur in just the severe storms when the combination of high winds mixed with heavy rains were at their mightiest.
FYI, this same perfect storm does occur often the higher the altitude, this house was high on a mountain, similarly, lets take Oakland Ca. for example at Grizzly Peaks or Skyline the wind mixed with rain hits 100 miles an hour many times per year, but only about 30 miles an hour with a storm at its fiercest down below where the majority of folks have their homes, which would have allowed the existing eve to protect this hugh forgotten hole.
SikaHyflex 150, fast curing caulking for use around window perimeter of stucco and wood as it adheres to everything set fast and can be painted in an hour, for some folks who are always in a hurry.
