Welcome to “We Chic’d It!” DIY channel. Today we will make football themed Pallet Coasters.
Gather the following materials before you begin:
Flat Pallet/Reclaimed Wood – mine are 5.5″x5.5″
Paint
Paint brushes – medium sized, fine point (optional)
Pencil & paper (optional)
Team logo stencil (optional)
Sand paper – 60 grit & 150+ grit
Wax or sealant of choice
Foam chair pads
Water
Step 1
Sand down your Pallet wood with higher grit paper along the top, sides, bottom, and soften the edges. Then move to the higher grit for a smoother top surface.
Step 2
Paint the main color on the top and sides of your coaster. I prefer to use my homemade “Upcycled Oops Paint” but you can choose any latex, acrylic, or oil based paint. Wait for the paint to dry.
Step 3 – Skip if doing 1-color coasters
Now that your paint has dried, you can either paint a saying, team logo, or use any stencil that you have available. In this video I used our stencil cutout of the Panthers logo.
Step 4
Once all paint has dried, add your chair pads to the base. This will help protect the surface that they will sit on.
Step 5
Seal your Coasters with your favorite water resistant sealant. Follow the manufacturer instructions.
Step 6
Repeat the previous steps for all future coasters. Have fun & enjoy your new handmade coasters!!!
