This is how I water-proof my watch straps and other leather products such as my belt, daily wearing shoes, and snow boots. It really works well and protects the leather from wear (scuffing just wipes away). This is for a Di-Modell alligator strap but I’ve used it on many other watch straps – but with Hirsch straps I’ve found that the inner core still gets smelly where the holes for the tang buckle are. The AERO lining of Di-Modell is really awesome and I’ve used a Rallye strap all summer with no smells at all. Also, Di-Modell’s seem to have rounded sides whereas many Hirsch are more square or 90 degrees, which tend to dig into my wrist after time.
